Launched to critical acclaim mid-way through the year, Kobana and Yane3dots lit up the Summer of 2012 with their unique take on the sparkling months of June and September. Now returning to headline after a 'Glastonbury' year lying fallow, Summer returns to Particles with fresh interpretations from a rising Russian superstar and a prolific young Ukrainian. Born in the recent political hotspot of Odessa on the Black Sea, Guk Kirill's Following Light production pseudonym has given the Ukrainian the tools to flourish in a creative environment. Schooled in fine art, Kirill's production career rose shortly after graduation, with early work signed Magic Room and Unfeigned Records. Describing his sound as atmospheric progressive house with elements of melodic techno, the Following Light sound has continued to develop apace. Approaching a double century of Beatport production credits in an eighteen-month burst of activity has thus seen Balkan Connection, OLD SQL and Green Snake play host to a raft of original material. Announcing himself on Particles in May 2013 with the high-calibre Calm EP, November's twin-track Delightful further contributed to Following Light success. Subsequent remixes of his growing body of work from the likes of Exoplanet, Omar El Gamal and Michael A have further widened appeal as Kirill now returns to Particles with a debut remix of Kobana and Yane3dots. Retaining rhythmic vibrancy throughout, the Following Light take on September is shimmering journey through the careful melodic phrasing that made the original mix such a delight. Half-caught glimpses of familiar melodies quickly switch direction as twinkling arpeggios catch the ear against percussive hats and pitched background effects to create a magical work. Andrew Benson's rise to the upper echelons of the progressive house and trance hierarchy has been rapid and sustained. From early work signed to Royal Sapien's Olaris imprint, Benson's personal music vision has delivered a distinctive sound that encapsulates his life experiences and deep, passionate emotions. With a recent contract signed to dance goliath, Enhanced Music, and a recent twin-track EP released, Benson's work for Nueva Digital, Black Hole and Moonbeam Digital have ably illustrated his cross-genre dominance over the dance floor supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Roger Shah and Barry Jamieson. A score of production credits for Particles has seen Benson become a regular contributor since a debut on the Fall Particles 2011 compilation.
