I know what it was that made me sceptic, it's the vocals. They're too high in the mix, which sort of makes it sound like it doesn't belong there, and feel out of place. There's nothing wrong with the vocals, they're just laid too high in the mix. But as soon as you get pass that this is pretty good. Heavy hardcore is what this is. Imagine From Ashes Rise, His Hero Is Gone and Wolfbrigade, add a touch of heaviness from the death metallers Bolt Thrower, and you have a pretty good idea of the sound here. Slow, very heavy, depressed and dark hardcore. To give it a quite unique edge they use more typical Finnish punk/crust vocals, that makes this stand out of the crowd. They also use dark, almost growled, back-ups, which fits perfectly. But maybe they should be used more often. The lyrics are about war, life, death - pretty standard. But they're in Finnish, which also makes LΣhd÷n Aika stand out of the metallic hardcore crowd. Very slow, concentrated more on heaviness and cool riffs than on speed. But for one part of Ihminen they speed it up, and you immediately head bang instead of just nodding along. As I said the riffs are really cool, actually they fit very well. Doesn't sound like any fillers, just pure killers. Drumming is great, occasional use of some double bass drumming gives it an extra metallic edge. This is really cool. It's nice to hear something fresh in the hardcore punk scene, and not just another Tragedy clone. Excellent riffs, great drumming...
