I layed on the floor weeping and heartbroken. The only response I had was to sit at my lapsteel and record. This record started as a response to his, but became a place for myself to reflect on my own time during the pandemic. It has been a rollercoaster to say the least. There is a lot to say here about grief and despair, fog, and equally a lot to say here about the weight of re-meeting my family and friends after not seeing each other for so long, about playing music together again, about swimming and sun. A lot to say about how all we really have is each other and our time together and what we do with that and how that is more apparent now than ever. A lot to be said about how beautiful and pointless and heartbreaking and incredible it all can be.
