Still other tracks are pure power metal █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ and would feel right at home on the previous two █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ albums. █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ While they have certainly added some thrashier riffs █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ and crunch to the guitars, don't get the wrong idea and █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ think that Lancer have become a thrash band now. █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ Everything is firmly rooted in power metal. If you've █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ heard the harder offerings from other power metal █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ bands, you'll know what to expect. Lancer are still not █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ exactly bringing any new innovations to the genre here █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ (and wouldn't have it any other way!). █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ The track "Iscariot", which they released prior to the █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ album as a single and on Youtube, gives a pretty █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ accurate impression of what most of the album has to █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ offer. The riff is a bit on the hard side for power █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ metal, the tempo fast, and the lyrics have █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ semi-religious yet mythological overtones about virtue █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ and sin and heaven and hell - a theme which is carried █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ through most of the album. █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ There are a couple of slower paced tracks to add █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ variety, like "World Unknown". This is a less thrashy █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ track, as you'd expect, similar to ballads you'll hear █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ from popular power metal bands like Iron Savior. The █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ lyrics are about dying and traveling to the afterlife. █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ Azrael, the angel of death from the Hebrew Bible, is █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ mentioned here, as well as (obviously) in the track █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ "Follow Azrael". The associated imagery this conjures █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ in my imagination provides the perfect backdrop to the █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ sound of the music they've created here. █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ The overall package is an enjoyable little power metal █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ album with a dark, mythical theme, and the appropriate █░▓▒ ░ * * ░ ▒▓░█ sound to match.
