Es erzählt von der Erlebniswelt einer Kindheit der Nachwendezeit und ihr Wirken in ein schwer zu leistendes Erwachsenwerden hinein. Eine Coming of Age Story mit Knacks. Seit 2017 veröffentlicht Katharina Kollmann Musik unter dem Namen Nichtseattle. Die in Berlin-Karlshorst aufgewachsene Liedermacherin hatte unter dem Namen Lake Felix schon vorher englischsprachige Musik herausgebracht, begann mit Nichtseattle aber, Musik in deutscher Sprache zu schreiben. Die Songs auf "Wendekid" sind sowohl in Band-, als auch Solo-Gewand bekleidet und bildeten in ihrer Zusammenführung sowohl Abschlussfoto der Zeit als Duo mit Manuel Kailuweit, als auch Einschulungskäsekuchenlächeln zum offiziellen Start ins ausgestaltete Solotum Nichtseattles. Mit mindestens einer Muttersprachenstimme also und einer reflektierenden E-Gitarre, die manchmal mitsingt, manchmal widerspricht, manchmal begleitet, besingt das "Wendekid" die Welt seiner Kindheit und alles was aus ihr folgt. Dieses drückt sich hier sogar zumeist in bestens potenzierter Form aus dank zusätzlichem Schlagzeug, Glockenspiel und Geshoute von Manuel Kailuweit und Schlagzeug von Rudi Fischerlehner.
