Being fairly new in the industry, █ █ I was not able to find out a lot of information on █ █ the band. I did discover however that this is █ █ their debut full-length release on Suspiria █ █ Records, and contains ten tracks. ôAsshole In Your █ █ Wayö is the opening track. A dark and ominous main █ █ riff quickly turns to a chaotic sounding Thrash █ █ blueprint. The vocals are semi-harsh, falling █ █ somewhere between clean shouts/singing and the █ █ deeper rasps of some other singers in the genre. █ █ ôDynamiteö sounds like something from MEGADETHÆs █ █ first album, particularly ôDevilÆs Island.ö A █ █ surprising twist comes with the spacy clean █ █ vocals, echoing throughout, and an advanced sound █ █ in connecting the riffs. The brief acoustic bridge █ █ is a nice touch as well. Thrash Metal with a side █ █ of sophistication? I like it. ôFace To Faceö again █ █ starts with a good build-up before the mid-tempo █ █ main part of the song carries forward. █ █ ôHit Youö is a nod to some of the NWOBHM bands █ █ that influences many of the Thrash forefathers, █ █ particularly from the dual guitar harmonies and █ █ riff driven power. Though not overly complicated, █ █ the point is easy to understand. The riff in █ █ ôInfoxicationö is a unique blend of a set of █ █ opening power chords that have a modern sound. █ █ They really nail the rhythm here as wellùsimple █ █ but effective. ôSultan Killerö is an interesting █ █ title and that opening lead guitar pattern does █ █ remind you of a sinister deed that is forthcoming. █ █ ôViolent Streetö has a soft opening and leaves █ █ your mind to wander what might be next. A █ █ well-crafted guitar solo joins the fold with a █ █ wonderful toneùthe kind of tone that sounds like █ █ it is enveloping you from all angles. The main █ █ riff is heavy and plodding, and the partly spoken █ █ vocals focus on a tale. I like how this song is █ █ different from many of the other tracks. █ █ ôInto My Gameö closes the album with the snarl of █ █ Dave Mustaine. They seem to have their eye on █ █ advancing this genre rather than living in the █ █ past. The proper due is given to the forefathers █ █ in their album as a whole but they blend other █ █ elements in as well. This is a solid Thrash Metal █ █ debut from a band that is clearly not afraid of █ █ stepping outside of the boundaries a bit that so █ █ narrowly define this genre. Keep your eyes on this █ █ band in the future, as it seems the sky is the █ █ limit for what they can do. █ █ █ █ --- █ █ █ █ Spans and Portuguese, as it happens mostly between █ █ neighbor counties and nations, traditionally and █ █ superstitiously donÆt like each other. Yes, █ █ thereÆre some historical mutual pretenses and so █ █ on. But only existence of such bands like NORUNDA █ █ shows that at least in Metal world they donÆt █ █ matter anymore! Well, as I know they never existed █ █ generally. There were and surely still are so █ █ closed-minded people even in our world, but I █ █ think that they always were peripheries and warped █ █ folklore. █ █ NORUNDA is a young band which was born last year █ █ (or as I read somewhere û ôin year 1 after █ █ Lemmyô). The founder is Spanish RubΘn Cuerdo █ █ (guitar, vocals) who was joined by two Portuguese: █ █ Pedro Morales (bass) and Marcelo Aires (drums). █ █ Anyway, these guys are rather experienced █ █ musicians who played several music genres. Guys █ █ recorded together two singles and mentioned above █ █ album. ItÆs quite quick tempo, ah?!? Yes, and █ █ thatÆs why they plan to release their new album █ █ yet in this year, but before theyÆll do it IÆll █ █ write few words about ôIrruptionö. █ █ An album contains ten songs of Thrash Metal █ █ generally. When you take a look on a logo you █ █ surely have automatic association with GOJIRAÆs █ █ one. But musically this association isnÆt as clear █ █ and self-evident as in case of logo. Well, these █ █ influences even if they present here, are subtle. █ █ Surely I can hear other ones much more clearly. As █ █ I mentioned, guys play first of all Thrash Metal █ █ and definitely in old good style! Somehow I have █ █ strong connotations with bands in which █ █ played/play Dave Mustaine û of course with old █ █ days of their existence. Especially that this one █ █ in which Dave played between 1982 and 1983 even if █ █ the word ôMetalö in its name doesnÆt play Metal █ █ anymore (as said some very well-known German █ █ musician from Essen and I can only agree with █ █ him). But itÆs absolutely any fuckinÆ copy of this █ █ cult, we can say, authorial DaveÆs band! I just █ █ hear influences of this band here and thatÆs it. █ █ Besides them I hear also other ones which surely █ █ make this band in some way original. █ █ So we have here sharp, but rather round riffs, █ █ some very interesting solos or other tricks û even █ █ if they sound familiar. I said that riffs are █ █ rather rounding, but it doesnÆt mean that theyÆre █ █ not as aggressive as it should be in Thrash Metal. █ █ ItÆs just a little another sort of aggression. █ █ Marcelo drums in very energetic way and itÆs as █ █ various as structure of songs (let for it. IÆd █ █ like to hear more cymbals, but we got what we got. █ █ Bass playing is in norm. It doesnÆt mean anything █ █ wrong! Just Pedro plays just like it should be █ █ played in such kind of music. RubΘnÆs vocal is of █ █ course clean and in some way reminds me mentioned █ █ above person with initials D. M. █ █ Well, this is first of all for people who love █ █ Thrash Metal! ThereÆs no doubt about it.
