The album title -and single title track- `Disturbia' was given by Mark Stewart himself during his recording studio sessions with PHONOLAB, shortly before his premature death. The album reflects some of the disruption and creative defiance Mark embodied and pays an homage to his highly influential input to the UK post-punk scene. Gerald Casale of Devo also gave a standout contributions to this album, providing striking lyrics via Phunk Investigation and adding a futuristic yet minimalist dimension to it. UK grime icon and Grammy Award winner Flowdan is also featured in it with his powerful vocal presence, bringing an urban and unsettled intensity to the release. Another key figure on the album is bass legend Bill Laswell, with whom the pair has already collaborated in the past on many different music projects. Both PHONOLAB creators Gaudi and Eraldo Bernocchi are known for their fearlessness in music production, pushing the boundaries of sound for almost 4 decades and blending genres to create immersive / forward-thinking sonic experiences.
