RELEASE NOTES ..:: ] ............................ In late summer 2014, Svatoslav Tvardovsky stepped forwards once more with another profound piece of work for Proton Music. The resultant twin-track Warp EP was a further example of the Ukrainian's production prowess as he stormed the perceived boundaries of underground progressive house. Revisiting the title track, Proton Music is proud to release further remixes courtesy of two expert modern exponents of their craft. Filip Kaczmarek is a name with a blue chip set of credentials. Using his Kobana pseudonym to alter perceptions of dance music, the talented producer is Proton's best-selling Polish artist. Responsible for a host of work wrapped up in an array of amazing percussion and synth lines, Kobana's dedication to his craft stems from countless hours learning complex production techniques and reverse engineering classic tracks, tweaking and bending sound. The result has been a showcase of solo and collaborative works that have graced the likes of Silk Digital, Spring Tube and Mango Alley with support from the DJ elite including Jaytech, Barry Jamieson and Hernan Cattaneo. Sixty Kobana production credits can be found next the Particles and Proton Music names including a clutch of collaborative releases with Yane3dots and Mario Hatchet for the former while 2014's The Riddle for Proton Music provided a landmark moment as a debut full-length album showcased an impressive collection of tracks in a variety of genres. With recent remixes of Barsoom and Bee's World from the likes of Marc Poppcke and Paul Hazendonk, Kobana himself returns to remixing with a typically diverse interpretation of Tvardovsky. Huge beats and rolling percussive rhythms provide a bed for an intelligent and highly imaginative rework, cleverly teasing out themes from the original and developing them into a twisted, genre-defying work of skill and presence. Iranian born but long-time Canadian based Navid Mehr is a producer on the rise. Intelligent, articulate and talented, the former member of duo, Beat Syndrome, carved out a significant reputation for himself over a ten-year period with his work with Hamed Safi, featuring on Sound Avenue, Balkan Connection and Movement. Reaching out into the world of production under his own name, Mehr's work since late 2013 has been highly-regarded with the Sacred Cycles EP for Change Audio seeing remixes from Pole Folder and Dubspeeka, while 2015's Gathas EP featuring the vocal talents of Amber Long, signed to Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat. Supported by Guy J, Rich Curtis and Cattaneo himself, Navid Mehr continues to make waves in the underground dance scene. Making his welcome debut for Proton Music, the Navid Mehr Violet Remix of Warp is a supremely elegant affair, characterised by dominant kick and ticking percussion before a collage of atmospheric effects and pads provide a bountiful supply of subtle melodic interplay. Building effortlessly to include extra layers of melodic dynamism, Mehr's work is full of intelligent touches that illustrate a master craftsman at work.
