the first volume of Dramatic Funk Themes, which was a dedication to the Themes International Music Library and featured such musicians as Alan Hawkshaw and Brian Bennett. Volume 2 focused only on British library music, whereas Volume 3 showed a more global view on library music. For those of you who are not familiar with the term library music, this is production music that was never commercially available to the public but was intended soley for the use in background radio, television, film and advertising. Pressed in limited quantities for the sample purposes of production houses, nowadays the prices for these old vinyl rarities have begun to soar immensely. In the last few years, we became kind of obsessed getting all of these appealing library LP's still kept under the surface. Recently, we purchased over a thousand library music albums from the 70's to the mid-80's to find the last outstanding gems which haven't been released commercially so far. Most of these old tunes aren't digitally available - even the copyright owners mostly have vinyl copies in their archives. The fifteen songs on this album were recorded in France and the UK, the only exception being "Let's forget the world" played by the Austrian Radio Orchestra, the ORF Big Band - a pretty rare vocal track featuring the two jazz legends Art Farmer and Fritz Pauer.
