For the New York production and DJ duo known as Trendroid, it's been a dizzying climb up the dance music ranks. Pankaj and Matt Edwards ¡ the Trendroid partners¡ have established themselves as names to watch in just a few short years, building a huge buzz in the progressive house underground with their powerful remixes, original productions and dancefloor-devastating DJ sets. And they've done it all while holding down day jobs few would associate with basslines and beats: Working as full-time doctors at a prestigious New York hospital. The duo met as first year medical students in New Jersey, where they discovered their similar taste in music. Both of them had been spinning for years, with Matt favoring a classic NewYork tribal sound and Pankaj inspired by UK progressive house. Tired of the NYC club scene, they both felt New York needed some new energy to break the stale trends that dominated the city. As Pankaj and Matt say, "The droid arrived to help redefine the NY sound." Their alliance quickly bore fruit. The legendary New York club Twilo signed Trendroid's first production "Hausjam/Ignition" to be the debut single on their new label and things started snowballing from there. Tom "Superchumbo" Stephan loved the track so much he personally asked Trendroid to remix his 2001 summer anthem "Revolution" for London/FFRR. Their remix hit #1 on the Muzik Magazine buzz chart, with support from top DJs like Paul Van Dyk, Pete Tong, Steve Lawler and Anthony Pappa. Their next original track "Trendication" on Twisted Records was a massive smash, picked by Mixer Magazine as single of the month, and played by X-Press 2 four times in their set at London's Fabric nightclub. Even Danny Tenaglia hailed the duo, championing their remix of H-Two's (aka Dirty Vegas) "Burnin' Fire" at his legendary WMC party this year. In the last 12 months, Trendroid have remixed everyone from German trance heroes Jam & Spoon to London's notorious X-Press 2 to pop star Mandy Moore. They've had their tracks licensed to the prestigious Cream Anthems and Global Underground compilations, among others. Behind the decks, they've rocked places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Lisbon, Miami and the Dominican Republic.
