This time round, instead of Kasey, we see 3 Beat Records head honcho Andy Jarrod and Mark DiChristo, (1/3 of homegrown prog outfit: Highland) doing the honours. CD 1 starts off with the lazy techiness of Moonwatcher's This Is... and builds on from there adding vocal tinged tracks, at the same time toughening the whole techy experience. Moving on halfway through the mix, things start to head dark, swirly and sometimes tribalish, hitting you pleasantly out of nowhere. Just as you thought you've adjusted to Jarrod's mood, he runs off without warning and drops bigtime soulprog bombs with Satoshi Tomiie's mix of Little Green Men - Need and Yann Fontaine's Open Your Eyes before morphing back to a halt with Black Dove's dark edged sounding mix of Trigger's Bring It Back. At first glance, CD 2 looked like a disappointment to those craving for fresh sounds, as Mark chose to live off with a staling selection of surefire tracks. So much for first impressions. Then like the initial anticipation of a rollercoaster ride, the mix showed that something imminent is about to happen... From the engaging bassline of C&S+DTen's Fever Rising to the emotional strings of D-Note's Shed My Skin then to the steely sounds of Way Out West's Stealth, the fluid mix slides across the different shades of progressive effortlessly. The ride then takes us into a tunnel when Tilt's Headstrong plunges the listener into blackness with all its dark twists. The journey through the tunnel ends when Mark brings out more steely goodness this time with TvsR's mix of Way Out West's Mindcircus. As if signifying the end of the ride, he brings on the bleakly breakbeats of Assassins Of Sounds before fading off into the background.
