It also marks his first original work on Delsin having released his distinctive brand of electro and techno on Frustrated Funk, Radio Matrix and Tabernacle before now. This album dives deep into the sonic narrative of VC-118A and mixes up his unique sounds with evocative musical imagery as well as obscure computer game samples, field recordings, and a wealth of hardware tools. VC-118A ùwho is also known as Mohlao and Multicast Dynamicsù got inspired for writing 'Inside' by virtual reality and imagined water worlds, and uses the extra space of this long player format to expand his adventurous story telling skills. Written in a transitional period of time between an underground bunker in Tampere and Helsinki in Finland, the album features deep and heavy drums, wet synths and surgical sound design as well as a mix of oceanic atmospheres, a sense of exploratory paranoia and cinematic beauty with floating strings and intriguing moods helping to paint the picture overall. The result is an album that goes from sparse, mysterious grooves to shiny underwater electro to frazzled and distorted techno via absorbing passages of ambient and overdriven machine workouts. This broad palette of sound and texture; of dirt and cleanliness, is what makes this always subtly evolving album such an intriguing work.
