Yet, since 1977, under the ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ guiding hands of Mathias Ruegg, the VAO has ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ prospered and has managed to establish a global ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ reputation for producing music which is creative, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ interesting, articulate, and eclectic. ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ The VAO's story really begins when mathias ruegg ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ discovered jazz while he was a student in the Swiss ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Alps. Flash forward a few years to the mid-1970s ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ when ruegg set up shop in Vienna as a solo pianist. ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ He soon found a kindred spirit in the saxophonist ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Wolfgang Puschnig, another son of the mountains who ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ also had been attracted to Vienna for the city┤s ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ musical heritage and possibilities. The story is ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ now legendary: the duo became a trio became a ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ quartet, eventually becoming the Vienna Art ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Orchestra. Things were happening: concerts, jam ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ sessions, invitations to perform abroad. Critics ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ and their reviews welcomed this new, imaginative ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ensemble which hit audiences like a fresh gust of ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ pure mountain wind.
