The answer for Voicst started with a ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ "Uhhhhhh..." followed by a "Welllll uhhhhh...." and ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ then all sorts of vague stuff about energy, bands ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ they liked, loud guitars, twisted lyrics, etcetera. ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Journalists tag you anyway. A review of a show for ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Dutch national radio was titled: ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ 'ADHD rock from Amsterdam' ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Voicst was shocked. They could be right...! ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ - Joppe (drums / samples) immediately called his ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ mum, and told her she shouldn't be worried anymore ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ about him spending all of his time on the band, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ instead of getting a proper job... He finally WAS ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ something... a true ADHD rocker. ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ - Sely (bass, guitars, vocals) jumped into the air ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ 20 times, and then another 20, and continued to do ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ so for an hour... Well, to be honest that's nothing ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ new. Sely's a steady man... ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ - Tjeerd (guitars, vocals) just called his doctor ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ to find out more... The rumor goes that he is ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ currently writing ballads now and then... (Damn, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ that Ritalin stuff must really work...) ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Starting out in High School, Voicst - at first - ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ was a band like many others. They played everywhere ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ in their hometown Amsterdam, got into fights over ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ the usual band things: time, money, girls, and ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ split up. Even though playing with other people ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ seemed better at first, there was always this ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ nagging feeling that some fun, some energy, and ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ some magic was gone. ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ A few years later the trio locked themselves up in ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ a rehearsal studio for a full year, without letting ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ anyone else hear a single note. After their first ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ gig as a reborn band, word of mouth did the rest. ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ The past year has seen them supporting bands like ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Millionaire, Ikara Colt, Mclusky, Tenacious D, and ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Nada Surf in various venues all over the country ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ (Paradiso Amsterdam, 013 Tilburg, Ekko Utrecht, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Vera Groningen, among others). The band also played ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ several national radio programmes like NCRV's Buzz, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ and VPRO's Club Lek, while their two demo's ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ received cool reviews in the Dutch press (Fret, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ Live XS, Music Maker). 2003 started promising with ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ a gig at the Noorderslag festival in Groningen, ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ good live-reviews, and various airplay by John Peel ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ (BBC Radio 1), Radio 3FM, and Kink FM (Dutch ▓▌ ▓████▓▌ alternative radio).
