As befits an EP on big room techno DJ Sam Paganini's label, Room One is a carefully crafted and expertly executed exercise in modern dance floor music. The title track chugs along menacingly, underpinned by a rasping electronic riff, while on "Screen", they up the ante with a tough but equally bleak roller. "Desolation" follows in a similar vein, but on this occasion the relentless rhythm features ghostly synth builds and a bleep bass. "Dom V" is grainier and has a more analogue feel as the Parisian pair hark back to the days of 90s techno, while closing track "Midnight and Rain" marks a further stylistic shift as an offbeat rhythm supports spacey melodies.
