We welcome Johannesburg based duo Weston & Engine to our Kalushi
family. Despite The Matters EP is a dreamy and deeply layered EP with
atmospheric arpeggios and echoed synths on top of driving, rhythmic
bass lines.
To introduce this package off, WE have started it with "Late Thinker".
This ambient tune contains hints of distorted percussive FX and
grooves that work together to back the bass drum and bass, accompanied
by a moving chained pad and simple arpeggio leads to solidify the
groove. It also contains a gated SEQ saw tooth based synth that adds
all the required tension to the final product.
Secondly we have "Easier to Love". This is a song that balances
weighty deep grooves and a mixture of friendly and uplifting emotions.
The rhythmic lead and strings work together to bring an all rounded
feel to the project. One of the stand out features of this song is the
bass line, the use of an unconventional acoustic bass guitar was put
