Slide It In is a ║ │ │║ generic 80s rocker and there is not much to ║ │ │║ really say about it. Standing in the Shadow is a ║ │ │║ fantastic song with a great guitar solo. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ The album really kicks it to another level ║ │ │║ starting with Give Me More Time. This is one of ║ │ │║ the hit songs on here but it just has a catchy ║ │ │║ chorus and some great guitar licks. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Love Ain't No Stranger begins with a nice synth ║ │ │║ sound with Coverdale's vocals before exploding ║ │ │║ into a fantastic rocker. The guitar riff is very ║ │ │║ catchy and the chorus is fantastic. It is songs ║ │ │║ like these that makes me really like the 80s ║ │ │║ hard rock, despite how debauched and excessive ║ │ │║ it all really was. Really catchy tune. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Slow an' Easy begins more as a blues song before ║ │ │║ getting heavy again with a very Van Halen-like ║ │ │║ chorus. I really like this song and the snare ║ │ │║ drumming syncopation really gives it a nice hard ║ │ │║ rocking vibe. Honestly, the buildup and payoff ║ │ │║ of this song is just phenomenal. Then the guitar ║ │ │║ solo...this song is just awesome. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ The last couple songs are a bit weaker except ║ │ │║ for the upbeat Guilty of Love which is another ║ │ │║ catchy rocker. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Overall, this is a great album with plenty of ║ │ │║ great hard rock tunes. Need Your Love So Bad ║ │ │║ almost sounds gospel-ish which is kind of funny ║ │ │║ considering how carnal this album is. Sure, it ║ │ │║ is not lyrically stimulating but the hard rock ║ │ │║ is effective and its fleshy lyrics seem to fit ║ │ │║ its style.
