The Iranian artist first appeared on the Greek imprint in April of this year with the well received 'Aphrodite' EP. Also laying claim to releases on Clinique Recordings and Soundteller Records, the Tehran resident now returns to Dopamine White with 'Chronos'. Continuing to gain loyal fans with his subversive sounds, it is the title track 'Chronos' which leads the release off. Anchored by a tough kick, its rhythmic core rises quickly, with layers of choppy percussion and lively electronics filling in the framework. Yashar's dark design and distinctive drive have forged a sound that is all his own and 'Chronos' is a perfect example of that. Relying heavily on rhythm and groove, it's tracky nature sucks you in while timely musical fragments highlight the nine-minute journey. The EP's midway point finds Yashar exploring more heady hypnotics with 'Jacawitz'. Its chunky groove is rough and rugged, characterized by rippling contours and rolling undulation. Buoyant and powerful, it provides the perfect foundation for waves of percussion and striking stabs to steal the air. The narrative shifts into emotive territory as the breakdown moves gently through tranquil overlays and hazy harmonics, before smoothly segueing into a groovy finale. Rounding out the release are the smooth, hypnotic vibes of 'Euphrosyne'. Punchy beats, rolling rhythms and loose percussion unite for a groovy rhythmic core. Rising atmospheres and ghostly overlays then advance the narrative, splitting moods between the surreal and thoughtful, perfectly setting up a reflective break and bouncy conclusion.
