release notes:
Death must have a cause...
We humans are incredibly happy when events have an explanation and that
there is a connection between these events. If we see a overturned tree
in the forest, we assume that it is either the wind or a human being who
has felled the tree. If we are in line on the highway, we quickly assume
that there has probably been an accident further ahead. So when I tell
you that the death metal band has brutally released the debut Reason
With Death, based on the band's name alone, what type of death metal do
you think they are playing?
... But why should the cause always be the same?
Of course, the obvious answer is brutal death metal, but the real answer
is illdisposed with Bolt Thrower Attitude and a great interest in Old
School Panzerchrist.
Of course, this means that brutally is more generous with catchy grooves
and riffs than the Trump administration is with increased tariffs. The
opener "Gehenna" alone is enough that you have to go out and invest in a
neck collar and something strong painkillers. If you add the rest of the
plate's stomping militant inclinations, well, it is clearly heard that
Leopard 2A7 The tank will get bottom gas beyond the West Jutland
terrain. On the more intense "Mortifera", the exercise training is also
brightly dirty by everything that the tank can be drawn up with. It has
probably been heard before with orders roar from hell over a merciless
march rhythm and teeth -cut riffs, but it always works as effectively as
an armor grenade against a house wall. Part of this efficiency must then
be attributed to production. There is an impressive amount of room for
all instruments and vocals to such an extent that one would almost think
the corona had come again. It's really nice to see a battlefield with so
much elbow room.
What is, however, is not particularly delicious is "Where Mortem
Dwells", where you can clearly hear how fast the blacked finish has been
thrown over what I assume is solely because you have to have some black
when you are inspired by Panzerchrist. In addition, brutally, probably
unconsciously, excellent, excellent the question of whether Denmark
really needs more death in the style of Ildisposed, Bolt Thrower and
Panzerchrist. Especially the first two have been milked to such an
extent that even musical skim milk will be praised. Of course, it is
fine that brutally on "Dominus Odii" draws clear threads to Rotting
Christs The Heretics, but it is just in no way enough to distance itself
from the echo chamber that Danish death metal has gradually become. If
you ignore the vocals of "Left to Decay", the number is so typical
Danish death metal that in a blind test you would never be able to see
if it was brutal, infirmities or deadflesh, or which of the previous 30
years that the number was recorded in.
There are more spices than salt and pepper
Is Reason with Death a miserable album? No, but it's definitely not
great either. It is for you who would like to have something well
produced Danish death metal, which sounds pretty much exactly as the
Danish death metal has done for decades without offering larger
fluctuations than a bit of black crumb on top. Of course, this has been
heard countless times before and with the same news value as Israel is
oppressing the Palestinians, but if you eventually expect another of
Danish death metal, then you may be a bit stupid.
