The Nihilist 3:38 release notes: The signs are again on the most violent storm in East Frisia. Because Phlipp Wilken is back with the third album of his solo project Hellysh. This is called ... uh ... "13", but I don't know what it is all about. But again the songs from Hellysh, oh yes ... 13 in number, nothing for delicacies. The mixture of brutal death metal, crust, noise and punk is also omnipresent this time. Phlipp probably recruited everything alone again. I don't have much information about "13". With thunderstorm and drums/bass, "into" begins, which turns out into the brachial chaotic, as well as severe riffs and marching rhythms. With quick frenzy, "13" continues. Abnormal what Phllipp gathered together here and what ugly sounds can be conjured up. If you play this track in your rental apartment with an open window, you are definitely going. But Hellysh is not just chaotic noise, but structures always take shape. For example, with "Madness", which begins with mosquito noises and waving sounds and is different with speech growls and bubbling moments. In addition to tough riffs, Philipp also relies on immense groove. A news spokesman reports from Chernobyl and thus releases the "Elephant Fool". A contribution from a pure Death Metal Baller, which also pairs with a dark slow passage with high intensity. The following "The Road to Hell is Paved with good intentions" also hovers in mid -speed and mutates into a sluggish groover. In general, it can be said that the most powerful material of the plate is definitely at the beginning, because, despite all the brutality, Philipp also incorporates variety, which makes the numbers "more audible". In addition to all pressure, the purely instrumental "Hidden Agenda" also has melodic elements. Swinging noises, as well as thrash-like stakkato riffs, houses "Kr Unedited and Raw". "Drowning in the Depths", which begins with quiet voices and presents high vocals without growls, is most out of line. Hellysh indulge here in groovy slow dark metal. At the end you can experience the food again in the form of vomiting, violent growls and fast rhythms at "The Nihilist", but also briefly spacy moments. In principle, Philipp Wilken continues with Hellysh where he started the path taken. However, more and more details can be found in the tunes, but without deviating too much from the extreme metal track. I could well imagine how the songs from "13" would chop even more into the meat if the sound had received a little more volume. On the other hand, Hellysh can hardly sound more authentic as it is. The extreme metal friend gets a full load of spray in the face and the album should hopefully give Philipp and his project more well-known beyond food.
