From the depths of the Chilean underground crypts comes one of my
favorite Heavy Metal albums of 2016. Iron Spell have been running about
since 2013 and this is their debut album, released on cassette,
digitally and on CD, this last one by Eat Metal Records. Playing a very
refreshing form of Traditional Metal in the vein of Wolf, Enforcer,
Black Trip and with a little bit of Maiden-esque elements, the band
delivers a great effort that will surely keep you on your feet. From
faster and galloping bits like in "Torches in the Woods" and
"Stormrider" to slower, lead-driven tracks such as "The Witch", Iron
Spell excels in making a high quality rendition of the NWOTHM movement.
