The debut EP of Ethereal War. A combination of black metal and ambience
throughout! "Geschwarztes Schweigen" takes very heavy influence from
early-day Burzum and other acts of the second wave of black metal scene.
The EP speaks upon the struggles of a capitalistic society on the fiery
first track of "Zerfall" [Decay], the mysticism of bringing back the
dead on the rampant "Mystiker" [Mystic], and the takeover of the planet
through the help of demonic forces on the doom-laden "Fertile Fields".
The second side focuses on the ambient pieces created during the
recording sessions, with the abnormally named "Götterdämmerung des
Abgrunds" fading into the surreal "Life's End". Finally, the end returns
to black metal, with the symphonic lead of "Echoes Through Tense
Silence".
